The KBIC‑240 (9428) is an adjustable‑speed DC motor drive designed for 180 VDC permanent‑magnet and shunt‑wound motors. It supports motors from 1/50 HP up to 1 HP, or up to 2 HP when used with an auxiliary heat sink. With proper plug‑in horsepower resistors, it can also handle up to 3 HP at 180 VDC armature voltage.
It operates from single‑phase AC input at 12 amps and provides up to 180 VDC armature output with a maximum of 8 amps. The field output is 100/200 VDC at 1 amp. The drive does not provide regenerative braking.
Speed range is 50:1 with load regulation of 1%. It supports both armature and tachometer feedback. A 5K speed potentiometer is included, and the unit provides trimpot adjustments for minimum speed, maximum speed, acceleration, IR compensation, and current limit.
Built‑in features include Auto‑Inhibit start protection, voltage‑following capability, and MOV transient suppression. Optional accessories include an auxiliary heat sink, AC line and armature fuse kit, barrier terminal board, RFI/EMI filters, and the SI‑5 signal isolation module.
The drive carries UL, cUL, CE, and C‑Tick approvals (CCC pending). Physical dimensions are 4.3 inches high, 3.64 inches wide, and 1.25 inches deep. Net weight is 12.8 ounces.
